Scent and Sensuality

  • Catalyst Movement Arts 2116 West Grand Avenue Chicago, IL, 60612 United States (map)

This one-of-a-kind experience combines the exploration of scent with sensual movement to create a truly immersive self-discovery experience.

In this workshop, we'll delve into the fascinating world of olfaction and how it influences our emotions, intentions, and bodily responses. We will explore a diverse array of scents, you'll learn how these scents can inform and enhance your movement practice and bring a little extra magic to your daily rituals at home.

The workshop begins with a guided scent exploration with Sara from Witchy Woman World Apothecary, where participants will engage with a curated selection of natural fragrances. We'll discuss the origins of each scent and its traditional uses. Students will then be invited to create their own blends. Think of it as a choose your own scent adventure.

Following this magical olfactory journey, we'll transition into the sensual movement portion of the workshop with Andrea and combine what feelings the scents evoke with guided somatic sensual movement exploration.

Scent & Sensuality is more than just a workshop; it's an invitation to reconnect with your senses and awaken your body's instinctive language of movement. Absolutely no movement or dance experience is required, this is a laid back and supportive space to explore, experiment, and express yourself freely.
