WTF DO TREES HAVE TO DO WITH POLE?

The deeper the roots…

You all know how sometimes we understand something, but someone re-frames it in a way that makes it feel like it opens your eyes even more? Like whoa! There is so much more to explore right here in front of my face! While I was busy looking for deeper meaning elsewhere, I’ve forgotten all the ways to deepen into what I’m already familiar with.

Well, that happened to me this weekend and I immediately wanted to share it with all of you because, like most other things, it’s a beautiful reminder for our pole, movement, and self connection practices too.

For those of you who don’t know this about me, I love learning. I never stop trying to learn more and deepen my personal practices before I unleash them on you all lol. This weekend I was in a  training and my teacher said “the deeper the roots, the more the branches can spread out and flourish”.

Something so obvious, right? But think about it…

If a tree has big billowing branches, but the roots are weak, it might be pretty to look at, but it’s not going to be sustainable.

While the tree is rooting in deep and building a strong foundation, we may not see even the tiniest new branch or leaf for a long time. But when we do, that tree will likely outlast all of us. Side note: that tree doesn’t give a fuck whether you can see it growing or not, it doesn’t need to impress anyone, it’s energy is spent growing.

See the connection yet? Maybe we could take a lesson or two from the trees.

When we start our pole/sensual movement/reconnection journeys, it’s so very normal and human to fixate on seeing results, but how does your growth actually FEEL? Fuck, maybe we don’t even know (I know I didn’t) and that’s ok-we all having a starting point.

We’re so eager to see how our bodies flourish and think the more stuff we can do with them the more we’re growing, it’s so easy to lose sight of how important it is to build that strong foundation first.

When we rush it’s not only not optimal for our physical bodies, but for our emotional/energetic bodies as well. What would flourish and grow if we let our predetermined expectations and goals take a back seat to how our bodies actually feel the most free and savor every step of the process?

Whether you’re joining us for your first class ever this month or have been with us from day one, this week we invite you to nourish your roots-everything else will blossom when it’s ready.
